Origin of Telugu Literature :
I am not sure of the origin of telugu language. But all of our south indian
languages are derived from a common language called "DRAVIDA", but luckily telugu is the sweetest language out of them. That way people say it "italian of the east"( ref: sir C.P.Brown).Telugu literature was started in 11th century by the great person named "
NANNAYYA". He was the first person who gave life to our telugu literature first
time. He put his efforts to write " maha bharatam" in telugu.
Before that there is no single telugu literature. So we can say telugu literature stated in 11th century.

It is marvelous to see you are doing a great service to our language. After nearly 40 years
of staying abroad, I have not lost my Telugu. I can speak, read and write it fluently. My
interest is in all aspects of our language and the people.
I would like you to highlight the values stressed in our Shatakalu ?Sumathee and Vemana
which stand good stead in the our present troubled times. One can not expect much
from the politicians who are corrupted by lure of money and power, anything but self-interested
decisions. I hope you stress the values that bind all Telugus together ?working for a united Andhra.
The distructive forces of caste, creed and regionalism have to be contained.
They say pen is mightier than the sword and I hope your attempt in propagating our
Telugu widens its scope and strive for the unity. Mahatma Gandhi helped to get us, Indians,
independence but failed to stop the disintegration into different countries. Potti Sriramulu
died to create Andhra Pradesh and now it is onus on all of us to see that it remains a
united unit for the benefit of all who reside in the state and educate the masses that
strength lies in unity.
Ramana Rao Sydney, Australia.
